It is hard to know where to begin in the story of JP and Willow. I thought it would just be JP's story but it is so much more! Love Willow!! The book really starts out with her story, her car accident and recovery and her life in the hands of an angel by the name of Hope. Hope leads her to Duke (he is amazing and hope he gets a book) as well as to JP. It is such an emotional story that brings hope and trust in others and a few more characters that add so much to the book. I do not like to do spoilers and tell what happens but the journey that Willow and JP takes is one that restores faith and hope in each other and those we love. This is the 3rd book in the series and they are all so good I could not pick a favorite. Read them all!This author tells incredible stories that go right to your heart. I have gained valuable lessons from all of her books and look forward to those coming out this year.

The opening was compelling and hooked me right away. However, from there I found the story lacked the elements that would keep you turning the page. There was an element of mystery, but I figured it out. I kept reading to see if I was right and yes, I had indeed figured it out. The story is written in first person, so it limits the readers ability to know what other characters are thinking. So this made it difficult to like the hero, since the heroine saw him as moody and unpredictable, that's how I as the reader saw him. I didn't find him all that sympathetic and not all that sexy. I didn't appreciate the weird surprise plot elements, like - Oh and the heroine is mixed ethnicity that appeared mid way into the story. The conflict with the mother was written as a sidebar and we were told she visited her mom, but we never saw the exchange. We never saw this secondary plot point on screen. Many of the scenes were just stuff happening and I found myself skimming through many, many pages of just stuff happening without any real reason. Like the hero surfing, the heroine's headaches, and meals with secondary characters with no real purpose. The angel popping in and saying a few things then disappearing was an odd way to move the story in a direction the author wanted. I am hoping this was just a one off story for the writer. I'll look for another of her stories and see if its any different. Sadly, I felt this story missed an opportunity to be compelling.
I thoroughly enjoyed the complete Coming Home series. The stories of the Thorton siblings go to show that you can overcome devastating circumstances through God's grace and mercy. T.i. Lowe is most definitely a favorite contemporary author for me. Her stories are not sugar coated, they are realistic and passionate. I loved the cameo appearances in this series from Lulu's Cafe characters and Bleu Streak. If you enjoy Southern contemporary Christian novels with lovable characters that you'll never forget, you will adore Ms. Lowe's books.
A beautifully written book on grief, forgiveness, love and hope. The ending was not a total surprise but a beautiful beginning. I have a new appreciation for photography as seen through the eyes of a photographer. I am an avid reader and this is one book I see myself rereading in the future. Every character in this story was fascinating and well developed. I highly recommend this Christian novel.
Willow is in a fatal car crash, but miraculously survives, and, guided by an angel named Hope, goes on to pursue her secret passion for photography, including an internship with JP.
Best bits I really liked Willow, and her boldness in turning a car accident into a chance to re-prioritize her life. She feels in over her head a lot, but forges through, partially thanks to the way her brain injury seems to have erased the ability to think before speaking. She learns to love, and she does it beautifully. Conversations with Hope make her appear a bit insane, but they also help her learn how to extend love and compassion to people who are somehow different than the norm. The friendships Willow initiates at Hope’s promptings are the best parts of the book. I liked seeing Willow's reactions to the different church services she attends. The ways JP and Willow extend love to others is heartwarming, and a great model of Christianity.
Issues I'm not sure what I think about the almost-violent kissing sessions when Willow is comforting JP, though they are very careful not to cross any lines before marriage, even when living in such close proximity. Quite a few typos and instances of incorrect word usage. I really enjoyed Willow's voice, and really disliked the way the first and last chapters were suddenly not her. Chapter 1 was at least from Hope's POV, which was okay, though I didn’t love it. But the last chapter gave no indication that it was Hope; it just sounded like an author's note, not a final chapter.
EXCELLENT BOOK!!!!!! It just came out yesterday and I've read it and also re-read several parts of it! This is the 3rd book in T. I. Lowe's Coming Home Series. You'll totally fall in love with Willow (and Hope) and more in love with JP. JP is the middle brother to Savannah (Coming Home Again) and Julia (Julia's Journey). It's SO fun to "catch up" with the characters from those 2 books as well as Crowley from Lulu's Café. T. I. Lowe is one of my very FAVORITE authors. I read a LOT, so that's saying something. You totally feel like the people in the books are real and people you would like to have in your life. Both Willow and JP have some heavy things in their past and the author deals with these things in a caring, sensitive way that gives hope to us readers with regards to overcoming hard things from our pasts. I especially LOVED 2 of the secondary characters!! Duke is quite a "CHARACTER"!! I hope he gets his own book next. Jace is the other one. He has autism and the author deals with him in such a sweet way that helps us to see that we as people are more alike than different - although we're SO diverse in so many ways. Do yourself a favor and buy this book! I TOTALLY recommend it! Great job again T. I. Lowe!!!!!
