I have a neutral opinion of this book...no strong feelings on way or the other. There was nothing about This that made me fall in love; similarly, there was nothing that I hated. All of the characters, even the antagonists, are pleasant enough. They each have varying personalities and quirks that are somewhat defined but no glaring flaws to make them interesting. There was little conflict and emotion for much of the book that it felt quite bland. This is your basic "teen paranormal romance" story. It's narrated by the main character Kayla, who sometimes branches out on tangents and describes the future and even past events with a weird sort of first-person omnipotence. Kayla is an average girl in all aspects: she's nice, moderately pretty, and modestly intelligent. She has red hair and is sort of skinny. Her life is mostly normal, except for reoccurring nightmares. My one annoyance was how formulaic the story seemed. Girl likes handsome boy who doesn't know she exists, they have a chance meeting and instantly hit it off. (It should be noted that Kayla's physical characteristics are scarcely described, though it is often reiterated just how miserably average she is.) From there, the rest of the story is rather predictable.
It isn't poorly written, but it's nothing that I would consider memorable. There were a few errors, but nothing too horrible, so for a free book, the quality was great. It was kind of short and sweet, but not satisfying for me.

This a vampire cure for forever eBook Shaun Roundy Reviews
This. is another suspenseful, insightful, and thoroughly enjoyable story by Shaun Roundy. Reading it produced the kind of feel-good and inspiring experience that I've come to expect reading his work.
I have to say that Chapter 11, "BFF," was probably the best essay I've ever read about being oneself and not giving in to peer pressure or "petty insecurities," as Roundy puts it. Being confident with the person you are, and not letting others opinions affect the way you act, the things you say, the kind of person you know you should be -- Roundy nails it on the head and causes you to look closely at your own behaviors, which I really loved.
The vampires in the story are very interesting and quite different than you'd expect, and the story ends with an excellent twist and cliffhanger.
A fun and inspiring read, I recommend the book to everyone.
This book targets such a wide audience, sure to please everyone. Like a little romance and flash backs to high school crushes? You'll love it! More into action and adventure and unexpected twists and suspense? Well, you'll love it too!
With two small boys at home, I don't remember when the last time was that I finished a book. This one I couldn't put down! I finished it in 2 days! With great character development and wonderful details and descriptions it's easy to follow, and too easy to get engulfed by. Yes, it's a vampire book, but just like Kayla says in the beginning, it's not what you're thinking. But it's not just a story either. Full of wisdom and insights, this book isn't just for teens or an empty read.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone, old and young, guys and girls. So if you can't decide, just buy it! You won't be disappointed! ) (and pick one up for a friend too! It would make a great gift!)
Lately, I have been missing reading paranormal romance. It's a genre that I really liked when I was younger, but as I got older, I grew out of it. Lately, I've been hearing about all of these great, new paranormal books that sound amazing. I've been wanting to get back into the genre, so I decided to start with a book that has been on my TBR for a while, This A Vampire Cure for Forever. I really enjoyed the book.
I love This so much that I read it all in one night. I couldn't put it down. I only ended up getting about four hours of sleep because it hooked me in, and wouldn't let me go. I loved everything about the book. The plot was fast paced, and kept me needing to know what was going to happen next. Even before the vampire part came along, there were subtle hints that something crazy was going to happen, which made me want to find out even more. The author did a great job building suspense. My only complaint is that it was hard at times to tell when Kayla was in the real world, or when she was having a flashback. That made things confusing at times.
I also loved all of the characters. I enjoyed watching them interact with each other, and form their friendships and relationships. I even liked Kayla's first set of friends, although they were kind of shallow and superficial. My favorite character was definitely Melissa. I loved her attitude and kick butt personality. She did her own thing, and didn't care what anyone else thought about it. I only wish that I could be like that someday. The only thing I didn't like was what she did towards the middle of the book, although I understand her reasons for doing it.
I loved This. I know the year just started, but I have a feeling it might be one of my favorite books of the year. I desperately wish that the author would write a sequel. The book ended in a way that left some unanswered questions. I especially want to know what happens with the vision Kayla had at the end, and how that plays out. I will definitely be reading more of Shaun Roundy's books, especially if he writes more paranormal books. I recommend this to anyone that wants a quick, great book to read.
This book is twisted and definitely leaves you wanting more... a complete page-turner!
