Preordered this wonderful book on the expectation of it being as great as the other Russian authors. It was such a good complex read compared to most of the litrpg books. I know the Asian markets started this market, but the Russians are perfecting it. Edge of Reality Phantom Server Book #1 LitRPG series eBook Andrei Livadny Reviews
loved this book. page turner. well done. If you like this story go right to sector 8 also. loved that one too. this genre is really enjoyable.
A good futuristic LITRPG. Was a good book had fun reading it. Did not like the books ending, and would have liked to have seen his stats displayed.
Quite a good book and wll written, too. I enjoyed it throughout the whole piece. I can't say it was surprising or shocking at any stage, though. If you are looking for some new ideas to mmorpg-based literature you will not find it here. If you are a fan, though, this book is for you.
Loved the book, only sorry I did not wait until the series was complete before reading the first and second books because now I have to wait for the third book to be published. Good read with minimal translation issues.
the story is very well written, the main character is believable and interesting and many of the other characters make you want to know much more about them. the setting is a great blend of sci-fi with alien races, lost civilizations and ancient misunderstood technologies vying for your attention as space battles and power armored fights break out everywhere. the pace is hectic/frantic while the mysteries pile up in the first installment. Can't wait for the next book.
Many strong points. Sci-fi universes are generaly more challenging than fantasy settings, but have a certain inherent complexity that adds to the richness of the story in comparison. Although I felt too much was left unclear as far as the underpinings of this universe, the adventure aspect I always look for is definitely present. I did not find the story as imersive as other litrpg I've read, probably because a lot of questions were left hanging in the air, but It remained an enjoyable read. Unfortunately, it also ended in a very sharp cliffhanger, which was a bit disapointing and always unecessary in a complete novel imho.
Good read, fine mystery, ternse story told from one person's perspective. There is a game going on, but appears to be more. Virtually all the story takes place in the 'game', after all, MC is stuck in it (and with him many people). Players can die for real given the right circumstances or die instantly after respawn in wrong area. Definitely adds tension to the story. Game mechanics take a backburner, only the last page contains a character sheet and it seems more about gather gear/quests/xp. Ends in a cliffhanger, but with two more books already available not much of a problem. Definitely going to read the next book.
Preordered this wonderful book on the expectation of it being as great as the other Russian authors. It was such a good complex read compared to most of the litrpg books. I know the Asian markets started this market, but the Russians are perfecting it. Alterworld for fantasy and this for sci-fi.
